United Fire Fighters of Winnipeg donate to Food 4 All program – Thank you!

On behalf of Food 4 All, we want to thank Alex Forrest and Derek Balcaen from the United Fire Fighters of Winnipeg Local 867 for dropping off a generous donation for the emergency Food 4 All program for the Central Park community.

Food 4 All is an emergency meal program in the Central Park neighbourhood, run by Rainbow Community Gardens, Winnipeg Central Park Women’s Resource Centre and Knox United Church, with support from other local partners. Food 4 All serves breakfast and lunch outside Knox United Church at 400 Edmonton Street to anyone in need.

Since March 30, 2020, Food 4 All volunteers have prepared and served over 120 meals a day to any community member who needs a meal during the COVID-19 pandemic. Increased job insecurity and the closure of some supports and drop-ins in the city have intensified the needs around food security in the Central Park neighbourhood. This crisis has been an opportunity for some of the most resourceful community development helpers to work together to serve to-go meals at the doors of one of our community landmarks, Knox United Church along Central Park, and lighten the burden of the crisis on our residents.

A big thank you to all our donors. However large or small, anything makes the difference.
